TrimBrim
Terms & Conditions
Effective 31 October 2026
The short version: shops keep their numbers honest and honour the offers and bookings they accept; customers keep the bookings they make and review only shops they have been to; nothing is paid for in the app except a shop's boost.
1. What TrimBrim is
TrimBrim shows people barber shops near them, how many chairs each shop says are free right now, how many people it says are waiting, and the offers it has posted. Shops list themselves and keep their own numbers. Using the app or the website means you accept these terms.
A shop may also take bookings. A booking is a request for a time; it is confirmed only when the shop accepts it. It is not paid for in the app — you pay at the shop. Prices shown are the shop's menu and an estimate of the offer; the shop gives the discount at the counter. The live chair numbers are separate from bookings: they are the shop's own count at that moment, and a free chair can be taken by the time you arrive. An offer in the app is an advertisement the shop honours at its counter, not a voucher or a transaction with us.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older.
- Give a real name and a working email address; codes we send go there.
- Keep your password to yourself. What happens under your account is your responsibility until you tell us it has been compromised.
- One person, one account. You may delete it at any time from inside the app.
3. If you list a shop
By listing a shop you confirm that you own it or are authorised to run it, and you agree to:
- Keep the counters honest. The chairs and the line are what customers act on. Tap them as people sit, stand, arrive and leave; do not advertise a free chair you do not have.
- Keep your opening status accurate. Customers who have saved your shop may receive an alert when you open or close, depending on their notification settings, and we limit how often the same person is alerted.
- Honour what you post. An offer must be honoured according to the terms and dates shown to customers.
- Post only what is yours. Photos you have the right to use; prices and hours that are true; a name and address that are the shop's.
- Treat your customers' details as theirs. A visit you record — a name, a phone number — is for running your shop and telling that person about your offers through TrimBrim. Do not export it, sell it or use it for anything else.
- Accept review before listing. A new shop is checked before it appears to customers, and we may decline or remove a listing that does not meet these terms.
Staff accounts you invite can work the counter but cannot see your revenue. A manager you appoint can do everything you can at that shop, money included, except closing the listing and appointing managers. What staff and managers do is done on your behalf.
4. Bookings
- You can cancel a booking at any time in the app. Cancelling an accepted booking within an hour of its time counts as a late cancellation.
- Once a booking's time has passed, the shop can mark it as a no-show if you did not come.
- Three no-shows or late cancellations within 30 days pause booking for 7 days. Walking in is never paused.
- You can cancel up to three bookings a day.
- When you ask for a booking, the shop sees your count of no-shows and late cancellations from the last 30 days, across TrimBrim, so it can decide whether to accept.
- If you run a shop: honour the bookings you accept, or cancel them in the app, which tells the customer. Mark a no-show only when the customer did not come.
5. Boosts
A shop may pay to boost an offer to customers within a chosen distance for a fixed number of days. The price and duration are shown before you pay; payment is processed by Razorpay. A shop's first 7-day boost is free.
- A boost goes live when payment is confirmed. There is no approval step.
- A boosted offer cannot be edited while the boost runs; what customers were shown is what they get.
- If we take a boosted offer down for breaking these terms, the unused days are refunded to the same payment method. A boost you end early yourself is not refunded.
- A boost increases the reach of an offer. It does not change where your shop appears in the regular shop list or search results.
- Boosted offers appear in the Offers tab. The cards at the top of that tab rotate among boosted offers nearby; that position cannot be bought.
- A boost increases visibility, not guaranteed visits or customers.
6. Reviews
- You can review a shop only after it has recorded a visit from you.
- Say what happened. No reviews of shops you did not visit, no reviews for payment, no reviews of your own shop or a competitor's.
- We may hide a review that breaks these rules. A hidden review no longer counts toward the shop's rating.
- A review stays on the shop's page, signed “Deleted user”, if you later delete your account.
7. What you may not do
- Impersonate a shop or a person, or list a shop that is not yours.
- Scrape, copy or resell the listings, the live numbers or other people's details.
- Interfere with the service — automated requests, probing, anything that degrades it for others.
- Post anything unlawful, hateful, or that infringes someone's rights.
8. Ending things
You can delete your account at any time. A shop owner must close the shop's listing first, so that no listed shop is left with nobody able to open it in the morning.
We may suspend or remove an account or a listing that breaks these terms, with the reason recorded, and we may stop offering the service with reasonable notice.
9. Our responsibility, and its limits
We work to keep the service available and the numbers current, but we do not guarantee either. The counters and offers are the shops' own; we are not party to what happens at the counter, and a haircut you get, or do not get, is between you and the shop.
To the extent the law allows, TrimBrim is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, for a customer, is nothing.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Ownership
The app, the website, the name and the design are ours. What you post — photos, shop details, reviews — stays yours; you give us the right to show it in the service, which is what you posted it for.
11. Law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If a dispute cannot be settled between us, the courts of Kolkata, West Bengal have jurisdiction — without taking away any protection your own country's consumer law gives you.
When these terms change, the date at the top moves and, for a change that matters, we tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance.
